Ann Hanus

Retired Economist, State of Oregon

Before retiring in 2013, Ann worked for the Association of Oregon Counties and the States of Oregon and Ohio.  Prior positions included: State Economist, Assistant State Forester, State Budget Administrator, Director of the Department of State Lands, Community Development Manager, and Policy Manager for the Association of Oregon Counties. 


In her various positions, Ann generated the state’s economic and revenue forecasts, worked on forest environmental issues, oversaw the state’s Common School Fund and public lands, managed the state’s community development infrastructure funds and focused on economic development, transportation and public finance.  Ann has BS/MS degrees in consumer economics from Ohio State University. 


She lives in Salem, Oregon and serves on the Salem Unitarian/Universalist Congregation’s Microfinance Committee with the goal of helping poor women and families out of poverty by earning a sustainable income.  She is on the Oregon Trail Coalition Advisory Committee as a representative of the Salem Chemeketans, the largest and oldest outdoor group in Salem.
